Our Story

Living Loss is a support group for those who have lost loved ones and are bereaved. It was birthed from the revelation that people are carrying grief due to a range of life experiences and many times people are grieving for situations and loved ones where no one has died.

What We Do

The Living Loss Group Work Programme

Living Loss CIC is an established 10-Session Group Work Programme. The Programme is designed for people to work through the grief process and is effective for both bereavement and living losses. We provide a safe and caring environment where people can express feelings and learn about their grief. We cover what grief is, the stages of grief, what triggers grief and good grief. We work with therapeutic and coaching tools to engage people with their emotions and help them move forward. By the last session, everyone has a better understanding of the grief journey. The groups are held fortnightly and have a maximum of 10 people.

Counselling & Coaching

If 1-2-1 sessions are preferred, we offer Counselling and Grief Coaching for individual work. Counselling or coaching is also available for family work, couples or small groups. You will be seen by a qualified counsellor or coach, and issues discussed will be in the strictest confidence. These are charged per hour and information about packages is available on request.

Workshops & Seminars

We also run seminars supported by inspirational guest speakers, and workshops on loss and bereavement by request around the country. As well as this, our team can deliver our Support Groups within other churches and organisations. Please contact us if you would like to know more.

Success Stories

“I lost my dad in 2011. I was hurting, as I hadn’t come to terms with the loss. Finding the Loss and Bereavement group changed my life, as I was able to share my experience with others who had also experienced loss.”

“Although I am in ministry, I realised that when I lost my mother, I needed time to grieve. I came across the bereavement service run by Sharon and Dorothy, and I found their programme extremely helpful.  We really need to know how to grieve and being in a group with so many others going through the same thing helped me to realise how necessary this is.  I would also say to pastors and those in leadership that we need to take time out for ourselves to be able to continue to help others. I’m so glad that I did.”
